The weight of the new gold sovereigns was calculated by proclaiming that the value of one troy pound of standard (22 carat) gold was £46 14s 6d. Sovereigns therefore weighed 123.2744783 grains or 7.988030269 grams, which persists to the present day, almost two centuries later. To put a gold standard into effect, and avoid the pitfalls of bimetallism, silver coins were declared legal tender only for sums of money up to £2.

The recoinage of silver in England after a long drought produced a burst of coins: England struck nearly 40 million shillings between 1816 and 1820, 17 million half crowns and 1.3 million silver crowns.

The value of one troy pound (weighing 5760 grains) of standard (0.925 fine) silver was fixed by coining it into 66 shillings (or its equivalent in other denominations). This effectively set the weight of all silver coins, and their subsequent decimal new pence replacements, from 1816 until the 1990s, when new smaller coins were introduced.

The silver coins initially produced were shillings weighing 87.2727 grains (or 5.655 grams), halfcrowns of 218.1818 grains (14.138 grams) and crowns of 436.3636 grains (28.276 grams). Over the many reigns until decimalisation other denominations came and went, such as the threepence, sixpence, florin, and double florin, always weighing exactly one troy pound per 66 shillings (irrespective of fineness, which was reduced to 50% in 1920, and to 0% in 1947).

1728c/3 = 576c * .96 / .925 = 597.794595c

5.655/500*2640*20 = 597.168c

February.  Hmm, not sure what February, Oh, yeah. :).

February 20, 2008 is when I first emailed, or maybe follow up email.

February 23, 2008 is when I signed my lease.

This is when the solar system kicks in, after time. :).

I need a microphone, a patch chord, a mike stand, a sound system.  I need to rebuild my system now. :).

you can get a standard shure SM-58 Mic for a fair amount - Michael Mutascio of the Save the State Theater project, in Stoughton, and STARS Community Theater. :).

Back to the calculations.

1728 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aladdin

((5.65500 / 500) * 2 640 * .925) / .96 = 28.7698125c

1728 / 28.7698125 = 60.0629566

So, 60 of these Shillings = 1 Roman Pound.

28.8*66 = 1900.8 carob

(28.8 * 66 * .96) / .925 = 1972.72216 carob.

So, a shilling is 1/60 of a Roman pound. :).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denarius

This is a heavy denarius.

28.8 carob denarius of 96% silver content system. :).

269 B.C. = 28.8/36 = a one shilling 1880 victoria is 80% of this, or 0.8

211 B.C. = 28.8/24 = a one shilling 1880 victoria is 120% of this, or 1.2

27 B.C. = 28.8/ 20.5714286 = a one shilling 1880 victoria is 140% of this, or 1.4

AD 54 = 28.8/18 = a one shilling 1880 victoria is 160% of this, or 1.6

AD 200 = 28.8/16 = a one shilling 1880 victoria is 180% of this or 1.8

Or, I could have it www.life-union.com/2 - this link works, but it does not say Amour I don't think.  It could.  I'm not sure right now. :).

"The farthings of Queen Victoria's long reign (1837–1901) can be basically divided into the copper issue of 1838–1860, where the coins were 4.5–4.9 grams in weight and 22 millimetres in diameter, and which were very similar to the farthings of her two predecessors (with the obvious substitution of REG for REX on the reverse)

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farthing_(British_coin)."

Now, Lawn Tennis started around 1859 as a game from Wales between Rackets and Basque Pelota with Augurio Perera and Harry Gem.

So, in 1859, here.

The modern sport is tied to two separate inventions.

"Between 1859 and 1865, in Birmingham, England, Major Harry Gem, a solicitor, and his friend Augurio Perera, a Spanish merchant, combined elements of the game of rackets and the Spanish ball game Pelota and played it on a croquet lawn in Edgbaston.[7][8] In 1872, both men moved to Leamington Spa and in 1874, with two doctors from the Warneford Hospital, founded the world's first tennis club.[9]

In December 1873, Major Walter Clopton Wingfield devised a similar game for the amusement of his guests at a garden party on his estate of Nantclwyd in Llanelidan, Wales.[10] He based the game on the older real tennis. At the suggestion of Arthur Balfour, Wingfield named it "lawn tennis,"[11] and patented the game [12] in 1874 with an eight-page rule book titled "Sphairistike or Lawn Ten-nis",[13] but he failed to succeed in enforcing his patent.[14]"

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_tennis

So, the 1859 farthing, this I will look at, as this was the money when tennis started in 1859, as I'll take this date as the beginning of Lawn Tennis. :).

4.5/500*2640 = 23.76 carob copper

4.9/500*2640 = 25.87 carob copper.

1728/23.76 = 72.727272 farthings per roman pound copper

1728/25.87 = 66.795516 farthings per roman pound copper.

Now here, is used 5760 grains for a British Pound.  At 3 grain per carob, this is 1920 carob per british pound. :).

1838 - 1860 Victoria Farthings Copper http://www.aboutfarthings.co.uk/Victoria%20Copper%20Farthings.html

This one is 4.7 grams of copper.

4.7/500*2640 = 24.816 carob.

4.7 grams 1859 Victorian Farthing copper, when Lawn Tennis, that I play, started, or around this time.

4.7/500*2640 = 24.816 carob

1728/24.816 = around 24 carob for a farthing.

A kitten is 48 carob, therefore is 2 farthing or 1/2 penny.

And a deben of 72 carob is 3 farthings or 3/4 of a penny.

For 480 carob of the new kingdom deben, 480/24 = 20 farthings, or 20/4 = 5 pennies, or 5/12 shilling.

The Barn Company started Thanksgiving week 1992, so November 1992, but well, ya this is about it, on White Street in Raynham, Massachusetts, Bristol County.  I still have to back date from this to the fall of 1991, say around September or October 1991.  I won the boy's easton tennis club junior 18 B championship on June 2, 1991, this is even pre-date, but within the realme of what I'm doing. :).
